Cambrian Valley provides
youth football and cheer programs serving the families of the Cambrian community. We are a member Association of Pop
Warner Little Scholars, Inc. otherwise known as Pop Warner.

Season and Schedule
The season usually begins with practice and
introduction the first week of August. Practices are scheduled 4 days a week for 2 ½ to 3 hours (depending on the coach)
until Labor Day weekend. After Labor Day, most schools have begun and practices are reduced to 3 days a week for 2 hours.
The season schedule consists of 1 Jamboree (preseason) game and 8 regular season games ending on the last weekend
of October. Games are played either Saturday or Sunday which varies by home team preference. For teams that qualify, end of
seasons playoff's are played immediately following the season. Conference Champions advance to Regional playoff's.
Regional Champions advance to the National Championships which are held at Disney's fantastic Wide World of Sports Complex
in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Pop
Warner
Pop Warner Football
is an international program operated for the benefit of its youthful participants. Since 1929, the program's philosophy
has been: Academics and athletics go hand-in-hand. At every level, Pop Warner Football seeks to develop well-rounded young
men and women who learn not only the fundamentals of football and cheerleading, but also the importance of education, in an
atmosphere conductive to developing a sound mind, body and character and having a good time along the way!
The
general objectives of Pop Warner Football are to inspire youth, regardless of race, creed or national origin, to practice
the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarships, and physical fitness, as reflected in the life of the late Glen Scobie "Pop"
Warner.
Pop Warner strives to make the game "fun" for all boys and girls. Coaches must constantly keep
in mind the ages of the participants. The program stresses learning lessons of value far beyond the playing or cheering days
of the boys and girls involved, such as: self-discipline, teamwork, concentration, friendship, leadership and good sportsmanship.
With such goals in mind, and by providing an opportunity to participate in an organized, supervised environment
with the emphasis on maximum safety and participation, Pop Warner Football offers young men and women a unique experience.
Today, over 200,000 players participate in Pop Warner Football in 39 states. In addition to the 4,200 tackle Pop Warner
teams, there are 700 flag football teams, and 85,000 cheerleader's participating under the Pop Warner umbrella. These
teams provide young athletes the opportunity to compete at a young age and learn valuable "life" lessons such as
teamwork, toughness, work ethic and commitment to excellence. It also prepares these young players for eventual high school
participation, while others go on to college and NFL careers. But is all starts on the Pop Warner level.
Pop Warner Structure
Cambrian Valley is structured as a non-profit California public benefit corporation, operated on
a day to day basis by an all-volunteer elected 16 member Board of Directors. It is a member Association of the Peninsula Conference
which is operated by an elected Commissioner assisted by various other elected officers. A Board comprised of Commissioners
and the Presidents of its 27 member Association establishes the rules and policies for the conference. There are approximately
130 football teams and 100 cheer squads in the Peninsula Conference.
The Peninsula Conference is one of 10 Conferences
in the Pacific Northwest region. The Pacific Northwest region is one of 8 national regions that includes Northern California,
Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Nevada. The Conference boundaries cover Northern California from Pittsburgh and Oakland in
Brentwood in the East and Daly City, Pacifica and Half Moon Bay in the West. Our regular season games are played within these
conference boundaries.
